BarkBuddy

BarkBuddy is a mobile app designed to help dog owners connect and coordinate playdates with compatible dogs nearby. The project began with research into how owners currently socialize their pets, identifying gaps in existing apps that focus mainly on health tracking or pet-friendly locations. Insights from this research guided user flows and wireframes that prioritize quick, intuitive navigation and meaningful social connection.

Custom filters for breed, age, size, and distance were implemented to ensure thoughtful matches, reflecting both the dog’s personality and the owner’s preferences. The interface is clean, colorful, and approachable, using an energetic yet welcoming palette of orange and blue to convey friendliness and vitality. Rounded typography reinforces this sense of approachability, creating a design that feels safe and inviting. Messaging and profile features were carefully designed to support verification, organization, and seamless planning for casual meetups or ongoing routines.

Through iterative prototyping and refinement, the app accommodates shy rescues, energetic puppies, and senior dogs alike. The final result is a cohesive platform that encourages community, fosters connection, and celebrates shared companionship between pets and their owners.
