The Flavor Market is a festival built around local food, flavor, and community, the kind of event where families, food lovers, and curious eaters can all find something worth trying. The project covered the full scope of event branding: logo design, merchandise, posters, brochures, an animation, and social media posts.
My process started with digging into Portland's culinary culture and figuring out who the festival's audience really is, which shaped the visual identity from the ground up. I landed on salmon pink for the logo, with a subtle fish head worked into the "M" as a nod to Portland's food scene, and built out two patterns, fish and carrots, to keep that food-first theme running throughout. The overall look leans warm and photo-heavy, letting big, vibrant imagery do the work of showing off vendors, products, and the general buzz of the festival.
Motion and print assets help guide people through the marketplace while still keeping the focus on the people behind each product, since that human element is a big part of what makes the festival feel special. Every piece ties back to the same core values: community, flavor, local impact, and the simple joy of sharing good food with other people. The result is an identity that feels cohesive and full of energy, one that captures both the excitement of the event itself and its bigger mission of celebrating local culinary culture.
